Cleansing breath

Kapapabathi is a breathing technique used for cleansing andconsists of alternating short, rapid exhales and passive inhales. By pressing/contracting the lower belly we push the air out of our lungs. Inhales are responses to the release of this contraction, which brings the air back into the lungs.

kapal means skull
bhati means shining or that which brings lightness

Do not use this breathing technique
– if you are pregnant
– during your woman’s cycle
– high blodpressure
– low blodpressure
